Love a List?

Me? I'm a list-maker. Be it the week's menu, a shopping list or a to-do list, I have them all!
Why? Mainly so that I don't forget stuff. I'm approaching that age when I can only keep so many things in my head.
Also, for the satisfaction of ticking things off. Nothing gives a great sense of achievement than, at the end of the day, seeing all my chores completed.

I've recently discovered there's another kind of list I ought to be checking, though.
Goodreads has dozens of lists which show the most voted-for books in each category.
Here's a list where some of my books would sit comfortably. There really are some cracking reads on there.

Unfortunately, mine is languishing at 159.

But hey! It's there! And if you've read the book and wanted to give it a boost, a vote from you would certainly be great. https://www.goodreads.com/list/show/43228.Multiple_Dual_story_lines_?page=2
Other books you might add to this list would be The Widow's Mite and The Widow's Weeds.
And then you'd be on a roll! Other lists where my books might sit comfortably would be: Family Sagas (The Talbot Saga, Salad Days, The Highbury Trilogy); Books set in Gardens (Salad Days, The Widow's Weeds); English Country Houses (The Talbot Books, Relative Strangers); Older Female Protagonists (The Widows books, Mrs Bates of Highbury); Jane Austen Adaptations (The Highbury Books).

The other reason I'm particularly focused on The Cottage on Winter Moss is that it is currently a finalist in the prestigious CIBA awards in the literary fiction category. Not many books make it through the slush pile to finalist status, so that's pretty thrilling in itself. But it now has the chance of progressing to become the overall winner in its category and then (be still my beating heart) the grand prize winner! That is, judged to be the best of all the overall winners from each of the sixteen categories.
Keep your fingers crossed.
If you haven't read The Cottage on Winter Moss yet, it's reduced to a bargain price just now, so grab yourself a copy. And if you find yourself with a list-itch, please do browse Goodreads and see if you can add or vote for any of my books.

The lists for an indie author seem never ending - developing promos, making sure your Amazon Plus (or whatever they're called) pages are up to date and appealing, writing blog posts and newsletters... and that's before you've reach the book you're writing!
